Some keys to a successful prayer life!
9 After
this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy
will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us
our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine
is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your
heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father
forgive your trespasses.

Many people do not understand what prayer is let alone how to pray. So in the next few pages
we will break down these scriptures and try to understand how to pray.
First of all what is prayer? Well I could get a dictionary to give you a definition or I could
just tell you what I feel it is. I think that mine is a little easier to understand although it is not perfect. Prayer is
talking to God plain and simple. That is all it is just talking to him as you would a friend.
The next questian is probably why do I need to pray. Well there are many different reasons for
prayer. The most important being. Having a relationship with God. To build a friendship a relationship with the God that you
serve. Becoming a christian is a lot like getting married. When you get married or become a christian you feel like you know
everything you need to know about the other person. Then after you try living together for a while you realize that you really
didn't know them at all. Becoming a Christian is the same way. We get saved thinking that we give our heart to the Lord, try
to live a good life and follow his commandments and that is it. Then after a while you start to realize that there has to
be more to this God that we serve. That is why God gives us his word to learn about him. He also offers us a straight telephone
line to his throne. Free of charge. You can call him just because, or if you need him. He is there just to listen when you
need a friend or to counsil you when you are in need. It is so great to serve a God that thinks I am important enough that
he stops what he is doing and sits down to talk to me. Sometimes about nothing at all.
The second reason you need to pray is for guidance. There are so many times in our life that
we have questions and no answers. That is when we boldly go before the throne and ask God for help. There are times when there
is sickness or disease that has taken control of you or somone you love. Don't be afraid to ask God for his help. That is
why he came and died. So we could have life and have it more abundantly. God is there for you for any problem that you have
in life
The third reason for prayer is to find Gods will. As we grow in God we begin to understand the
importance of being in Gods will. There are many decisions that we make everyday and don't even think of asking God what is
his will. We may think that the decision is to small or not very important and just do what we think is best. Sometimes that
works and sometimes it was a trap from the devil trying to get us out of Gods will. So it is always the safest policy to ask
God what is best for our lives. God knows our past and he knows our future he knows when satan is setting a trap just waiting
for us to fall into it.
The Lords prayer is a guideline for us. It shows us exactly how to pray and what to pray for.
In the next few pages we will break it down so that we can get the most out of our prayer life and be a successful prayer
warrior.
