What is a Christian?

What is a Christian? This is a question that many people may ask. There are very many different answers that you will get, and not all of them are correct. There are many different doctrins that will disagree with my opinion on this matter. The Bible says in (John 3:16)
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This scripture does not say that you have to look a certain way or act a certain way. It says that you only have to believe in him. (Romans 10: 9-13)
9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.
10)For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11)For the scripture saith, Whosoever shall believe on him, shall not be ashamed.
12)For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13)For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
This scripture says nothing about us being perfect or sinless to receive him. It say we must only believe, ask and confess him as Lord and Savior. Then God will forgive you of any and all of your sins.

    I know that some might want you to think that you must be perfect. Some may want you to conform to the man made laws that they have created, and are trying to pass them off as a necessity for salvation. That is not what scripture says. Once again just believe, ask and confess. I believe that when you become a Christian, you come as you are. If you have problems, addictions, perversions. Bring them with you. I don't believe that just because you become a Christian you immediately become perfect. I believe that as we grow in God he slowly changes our heart and our desires to conform us to be all that God has called us to be. I'm not saying it is right to continue sinning. I'm saying to turn it over to Jesus and he will help you overcome all your imperfections. Jesus said come as you are. I am saying come as you are. As you begin growing in Christ he will help you. The bible says that he sent the holy spirit to teach us all things. God will show us how and when we must change things in our lives. He may show you in scripture, through prayer or simply through a message that you hear. But God will show you and he will help you overcome your imperfections. The Bible says in James that if a man knows right and does it not to him it is a sin. God will reveal the sin in your life, and then give you the ability to overcome your sin.
    So what is a Christian. It is someone who believes, asks and confesses Jesus as Lord and Savior. Then after they receive Jesus they continue to follow Gods leading and do all in their power to serve God. A christian at all times shows Love, Commpassion to all, no matter what the other person is like. A Christian trys with all of their heart to be Christ like. I mean that we try with all of our heart to live as Christ would live. No Christian is perfect and will never be. A Christian just trys to serve God and do his best. I pray that you will find a church to call home. To find a pastor who will lead you in the things of the Lord. A shephard that will help you become all that you are called to be.
    If you have been turned off to Jesus because of the rules and regulations of relegion I understand. So I'm asking you to not serve God through relegious beliefs. Serve Jesus from your heart, serve him with what the Bible says. Serve him just because you love him. Most of all serve him because he LOVES YOU. Now that is a Christian.
